Venice versus the Zombies by Chanimur Venice versus the Zombies by Chanimur
A world where the Black Plague was a Zombie Plague. After the dust settles, Venice and the Hanseatic League emerge as two of the most successful states in Europe, and are busily colonizing the Americas, and at the same time researching causes and cures for the zombie plague. This world's science (especially medicine) is much more advanced than ours at the same time period; they've got microscopes, pasteurization, primitive organ transplants, and all kinds of other goodies that weren't developed in our world until the 20th century.

Maybe I should redo this as a world map...

And Vladivostok is full of Japanese soldiers. Occupied. Although it's not really Vladivostok in that time frame. :D

I did this so long ago I can't even remember. And unfortunately the original was lost when my old computer died. :(

I just found your DeviantArt page. I cackled slightly when I saw the maps.

I don't think I need to say how awesome this is, and I love the idea of a world map for this.

*checks the map again* Hanseatic England?! Without the North! Oh, thank you, good sir, thank you...

I'm thinking about doing a world map for this scenario at some point, so stay tuned.

Hmmm, I wonder how this Zombie plague would effect the natives of North America? Or could they possibly be immune?

My thought was that they're not immune; in fact, the zombie plague is spread there in the 14th century by refugees fleeing from Europe.

By 1807, the native populations haven't come close to regaining their pre-plague numbers, but there are a couple of native states that have survived and become fairly advanced thanks to a cheap and plentiful form of labor: zombies. The strongest is a Confederation of Mayan city-states that controls much of Mexico and central America; they're trading partners with the Hanse.

Thanks! And hey, if you're gonna take out England, Austria, and the rest, you may as well put a bullet in Lithuania too... :D
